About Bonifay, FL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Serving as the county seat of Holmes County, Bonifay is a city of about 2,800 located in the northern portion of the Florida panhandle. The city was named after Frank Bonifay who owned a brick making factory that was located in Pensacola, about 100 miles east of Bonifay. When Frank Bonifay purchased a share of the L&N Railroad, now called the CSX Rail, W.D. Chipley, an American railroad tycoon who built many of Florida’s railways, used Bonifay’s last name as a title for the unnamed community that he passed through while laying tracks for his railroad.

There are four public schools that are located in the Bonifay area. Bonifay Elementary School, Bonifay Middle School, Holmes County Highschool and Bethlehem School serve to educate the young children and young adults located in Bonifay. There are also two county colleges located within 40 miles of Holmes County in which Bonifay sits, giving residents opportunities to pursue higher educations.

Bonifay offers many attractive activities to individuals. The Dogwood Lakes Golf Club is a beautiful 18-hole golf course with both a driving range and putting green. Bonifay is about 53 miles north of the closest beach, a quick afternoon drive for individuals looking to soak up a few hours of sun. In the area there are also many bodies of water, giving many opportunities for fishing enthusiasts.

During the months of summer, Bonifay sees daytime temperatures average around 93 degrees Fahrenheit. A fair amount of rain is seen in the area, about 6 inches during the warmer months on average, causing humidity levels to be high which often makes for uncomfortable conditions, especially when temperatures rise. Individuals will find it wise to hire an HVAC technician to inspect their cooling systems in order to ensure they are properly functioning and are ready for use.
